Competitive salary (from at least £45k higher with experience) + generous bonus (circa 20%)

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Marketing team as an Events Manager. This role is responsible for planning and delivering Esri UK’s flagship conferences, ensuring they run smoothly, deliver a great experience and achieve clear business outcomes.

You will take ownership of three major conferences each year, working across internal teams, partners and suppliers to bring each event together from initial planning through to delivery and post-event evaluation. As the events function evolves, you will also play a key role in shaping and leading a broader portfolio of exhibitions, sector-focused and campaign-led events, establishing scalable processes and best practices to support future growth. You will also be responsible for managing and developing the Events Executive, helping to build a high-performing events function that delivers outstanding experiences and measurable business impact.

As our Events Manager you will:

  • Lead the planning and delivery of three Esri UK conferences each year
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of events, from initial planning to on the day execution, and post-event evaluation
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines and budgets
  • Coordinate across marketing, sales, technical teams and leadership to align event content and business objectives
  • Manage relationships with venues, suppliers and external partners
  • Oversee event logistics including registration, production, staging and attendee experience
  • Ensure all elements of the conference are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget
  • Work closely with marketing teams to support event promotion and attendance
  • Manage speaker engagement, agenda development and session planning
  • Lead Esri UK's presence at external exhibitions, conferences and events, ensuring strong brand representation and measurable outcomes
  • Oversee on site delivery, troubleshooting issues and ensuring a smooth experience
  • Lead post event reporting, including feedback, performance and recommendations for improvement
  • Line manage an Events Executive, partnering closely on the planning and delivery of conferences, exhibitions and other events
  • Support and develop the Events Executive, helping to prioritise workloads and drive successful event outcomes
  • Drive continuous improvement through the development of processes, tools and best practices to support the growth of the events programme
  • Support wider business priorities through the development of new event formats and engagement opportunities where appropriate
  • Be UK-based with the entitlement to work full-time in the UK

  • Have experience managing large-scale conferences or events end-to-end particularly at venues such as Excel and ICC
  • Are highly organised and able to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders, workstreams and deadlines
  • Are confident influencing and working with senior stakeholders, suppliers and external partners
  • Have strong attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality experiences
  • Are experienced in budget management, supplier negotiations and commercial decision-making
  • Have experience managing, coaching or developing team members, with the ability to motivate others and foster a collaborative working environment
  • Possess strong people management and communication skills, enabling you to effectively prioritise work, provide guidance and develop team capability
  • Are calm under pressure, adaptable and able to solve problems quickly
  • Having experience in B2B events or conferences would be essential.

The location

This is a UK based role. You will be expected to visit our head office in Aylesbury occasionally, attend meetings and travel to events as required. Overnight stays will be required.
