Job Summary

We are seeking an Event Manager to join our dynamic and fast-paced team in North Hampshire. In this role, you will take on responsibilities in supporting the delivery of high-profile event projects, working closely with the Managing Director and fellow event managers. You will coordinate a variety of UK-based and international events, ensuring the smooth execution of all event logistics and client interactions. This is a full-time position with office-based work, with some evening and weekend event responsibilities.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Event Management: Collaborate with other senior event managers to plan, manage, and execute events in the UK and abroad, from concept through to delivery.
  • Budget Management: Prepare and support the management of detailed event budgets to ensure projects are delivered within financial parameters.
  • Client Relations: Maintain a professional and calm demeanour when liaising with clients, ensuring excellent service delivery, from initial meetings to event execution.
  • Supplier Management: Negotiate and coordinate with event suppliers to secure the best contracts, ensuring all event requirements are met.
  • Proposal & Presentation Development: Support research, create, and deliver compelling, creative proposals and presentations using PowerPoint, tailored to client needs.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all events meet health & safety standards, and manage the necessary regulatory documentation, including first aid and risk assessments.
  • Social media & Marketing support: Manage event-related content on various social media platforms, assisting with the development of sales materials and campaigns.
  • Project Management: Use platforms such as 'MONDAY' to update and manage event workflows and databases, ensuring smooth communication and project tracking.
  • Team Collaboration & Development: Participate in weekly team meetings, contributing to agenda creation and project allocation.
  • Event Representation & Networking: Represent the company at industry forums, networking events, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) events to build and maintain key relationships.
  • Confidentiality & Discretion: Work under strict non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) for private and corporate clients, always maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in event management, ideally within an agency, corporate office, hotel/venue events office, or similar environment.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale events, both domestic and international, with experience in VIP and ultra-high-net-worth client management.
  • Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with delegate registration platforms and event apps, as well as familiarity with social media management and delivery.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a polished telephone manner and the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Prefer solid understanding of event industry standards, including health & safety regulations and contractual negotiations.
  • Experience in designing creative marketing materials, such as sales mailers, proposals, and campaign assets.
  • Willingness to travel both within the UK and internationally as required.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid UK driving licence and own a car for event-related travel.
  • Current passport required for overseas travel.
  • Ability to work in a busy, open-plan office environment while remaining focused on delivering high-quality results.
