Event Marketing Manager - EMEA – S&P Global Ratings

The Team

The S&P Global Ratings Event Marketing Team is responsible for overseeing the strategy, management, and execution of over 400 events annually, including webinars, hosted events, and 3rd-party events & sponsorships. Our values include:

The Impact

As the Event Marketing Manager, you will:

  • Own the full end-to-end delivery of the events lifecycle for a portfolio of events across EMEA
  • Align event programs with business priorities, partnering with Analytical, Commercial, and Market Outreach teams
  • Work as a trusted meetings and events expert, collaborating with colleagues globally and in London/EMEA to deliver top-tier events for the financial sector

Responsibilities

Strategy, Planning & Stakeholder Alignment

  • Execute EMEA event and event marketing strategy for hosted events, webinars, roadshows, and third-party programs aligned to sector- and business-level priorities
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across Analytical, Commercial, Market Outreach, and Marketing to plan, prioritize, and deliver high-impact programs supporting brand, engagement, and pipeline objectives
  • Contribute to regional initiatives and occasionally engage in global event programs

Event Delivery & Operations

  • Lead end-to-end event delivery (concept to follow-up for live, virtual, and hybrid formats)
  • Project manage EMEA roadshows, coordinating timelines, logistics, and cross-functional deliverables
  • Manage industry sponsorships and partnerships to drive sector objectives
  • Source, evaluate, and manage venues and suppliers (hotels, AV/production, service providers, vendors)
  • Negotiate and manage vendor and third-party partner contracts
  • Oversee speaker management (prep, briefing, rehearsal) for quality delivery

Event Marketing, Communications & Audience Engagement

  • Develop integrated event marketing campaigns (with campaign and product marketing)
  • Manage audience targeting and registration data ensuring compliance and brand consistency
  • Drive performance against KPIs (registrations, attendance, engagement, MQLs)
  • Optimize marketing efforts for maximized ROI and effectiveness

Reporting, Analytics & Performance Insight

  • Produce post-event reports (performance, engagement, commercial impact) for senior stakeholders
  • Analyze key metrics (attendance, pipeline influence, MQLs)
  • Use feedback and data to shape future strategies

Budget, Compliance & Portfolio Management

  • Manage events within approved budgets
  • Ensure legal, regulatory, insurance, health/safety, and governance compliance
  • Ensure portfolio administration and process improvements

What We’re Looking For

  • 5-7 years’ experience in event planning/marketing (virtual/hybrid/in-person), preferably with Event Marketing as a core role
  • Sector experience in regulated industries (financial, banking, insurance) +
  • Familiarity with key marketing tools (Marketo, Cvent, SalesForce, Adobe Suite, GlobalMeet, etc.)
  • Understands S&P’s business environment, credit ratings, and financial markets
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant industry experience preferred
  • Languages +: French, German, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Arabic (nice-to-have)

Travel Requirements

  • Occasional travel across Europe, infrequent wider EMEA
  • Minimum 2 in-office days per week (Office mandates)
