Event Planner
Location: Royal Armouries Museum - Leeds (on-site)
Salary: Competitive + Performance Bonus
Contract: Full Time, 40 hours, Permanent
At Royal Armouries Conference & Events, we host an exciting portfolio of conferences, exhibitions, banquets, and corporate events within one of the UK's most distinctive venues. Working with a diverse range of clients, our team delivers exceptional experiences from initial enquiry through to event delivery, ensuring every event exceeds expectations.
We're expanding and looking for a strategic, energetic, detail-obsessed Event Planner to join our powerhouse team. If you're ready to own events from blueprint to breakout session — and love the adrenaline of live logistics — this could be the role for you!

What You’ll Do
- Plan large-scale B2B and B2C conferences, exhibitions, banquets, and expos.
- Develop detailed event plans, floorplans, schedules, and operational timelines to ensure seamless event delivery.
- Conduct venue showrounds and planning meetings with clients, establishing final event requirements while proactively identifying opportunities to enhance their event experience and maximise revenue.
- Prepare accurate Banqueting Event Orders (BEOs) and attend operational meetings to ensure all event details are communicated effectively to the Operations team.
- Work closely with the Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure successful event delivery.
- Monitor event budgets, review event performance, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Opportunity to attend venue showcase events and FAM Trips.
- Proactively follow up previous clients, lost enquiries, and lapsed accounts to generate new business opportunities.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify opportunities that help Royal Armouries Conference & Events remain competitive and grow market share.

Who You Are
- Minimum 2 years' experience in conference, banqueting, and exhibition event planning.
- Proven experience managing multi-day, multi-track events with hundreds or thousands of attendees.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail, able to prioritise multiple projects and consistently deliver to deadlines.
- Demonstrable experience of achieving KPIs and contributing to business growth through proactive account management and sales activity.
- Proactive and solutions-focused, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing requirements.
- Comfortable using event management systems, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office, with the ability to analyse data and produce accurate reports.
- Passionate about delivering outstanding customer service and creating memorable event experiences.
- You’ll possess commercial awareness, constantly seeking new opportunities to generate revenue.
