Sales & Events Manager
Location: The Bloomsbury Ballroom, Central London
Reporting to: Head of Sales
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
The Bloomsbury Ballroom is a landmark 1920s Art Deco venue in the heart of London. With capacity for up to 880 standing guests, 500 theatre-style or 300 seated guests, the venue hosts corporate events, awards ceremonies, conferences, brand activations, weddings, private celebrations and immersive experiences.
We are looking for a commercially driven Sales & Events Manager to take ownership of private-event sales and client management across The Bloomsbury Ballroom.
This is an end-to-end role combining inbound sales, proactive new-business development and event planning. You will manage clients from initial enquiry and proposal through to contracting, operational handover and successful event delivery.
You will be responsible for:
- Managing inbound private-hire and event enquiries.
- Proactively generating new business through outbound sales, networking and agency engagement.
- Developing relationships with corporate clients, event agencies, brands, production companies, wedding planners and private clients.
- Conducting venue show-rounds, client meetings and discovery calls.
- Preparing tailored proposals, quotations and contracts.
- Negotiating pricing and commercial terms while protecting venue profitability.
- Managing an accurate sales pipeline and forecasting future revenue.
- Acting as the principal client contact throughout the planning process.
- Coordinating event requirements across catering, operations, production, AV, security and finance.
- Ensuring deposits, stage payments and final balances are received on time.
- Producing clear event specifications, timelines and operational handovers.
- Supporting the successful delivery of complex, high-value and strategically important events.
- Developing repeat business and referral opportunities.
- Providing direction to the Sales & Events Coordinator when supporting private events.

You will have:
- Proven experience in venue sales, event sales or business development.
- Experience managing private events from enquiry through to delivery.
- Strong inbound conversion and proactive new-business development skills.
- Experience selling to corporate clients, agencies, brands or private-event organisers.
- Confidence in pricing, negotiation and commercial decision-making.
- Strong client relationship-management skills.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
- Experience preparing proposals, contracts and event documentation.
- Confidence managing multiple enquiries and live events simultaneously.
- Experience using CRM systems for pipeline management and forecasting.
- The ability to work effectively with operational, catering, production and finance teams.
- Experience within a London venue, hotel, hospitality business, experiential company or events agency would be particularly relevant.

- Accuracy of event documentation and operational handovers.
- Timely collection of deposits and balances.
This is a venue-based role requiring flexibility to attend client appointments and events, including occasional evenings and weekends.
