Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent
Location: University of Huddersfield – London Campus, Stratford, Greater London
Salary: up to £35,000 per annum


The Events and Enrichment Coordinator will play a key role in enhancing the student experience through the development, coordination, and delivery of a diverse programme of enrichment activities, student-led clubs and societies, sports opportunities, volunteering initiatives, and institutional events.

The post holder will support student engagement, leadership, and community-building by creating opportunities for students to connect, participate, and develop skills beyond the curriculum. They will lead on the planning and delivery of key student events, clubs, and societies and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to foster an inclusive, vibrant, and engaging campus community.


ABOUT THE ROLE

Student Engagement and Enrichment

  • Develop and coordinate a varied programme of student enrichment activities that enhance the overall student experience.
  • Support the establishment, growth, and sustainability of student clubs, societies, sports clubs, and other student-led initiatives.

Events Management

  • Coordinate the planning, promotion, and delivery of a calendar of student-facing and institutional events.
  • Lead on the organisation of events including:
    • Welcome and induction activities
    • Student training and development programmes
    • International celebrations
    • Institutional events

Clubs and Societies

  • Recruit, train, and support student representatives and club committee members.
  • Build strong relationships with clubs and societies, providing strategic guidance and operational support.
  • Develop new clubs, societies, and enrichment opportunities in response to student interests.
  • Manage equipment inventories and resources associated with student activities.

Financial Management & Funding

  • Support clubs and societies to secure funding through grants, sponsorship, and fundraising initiatives.

Quality and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding requirements, risk assessments, and relevant policies.
  • Monitor participation, engagement, and student feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and regularly review the Clubs and Societies Handbook, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and best practice.

Partnership Working

  • Collaborate with the University partner team, the Student Union, academic colleagues, the Careers team, and the wider Student Experience team to develop and deliver activities that enhance student engagement and the overall student experience.

General Responsibilities

  • Develop initiatives that promote inclusion, belonging, and student engagement.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of practice.
  • Undertake other duties commensurate with the grade and responsibilities of the post as reasonably required.

ABOUT YOU

Essential

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience
  • Relevant qualification in events management or project management

Desirable

  • A recognised sports coaching qualification (e.g. UK Coaching, National Governing Body (NGB) Level 2 or equivalent)
  • Mental Health First Aid or safeguarding training
  • Working in events planning management
  • Working in education contexts including Higher Education and with International Students
  • Working in student events, support, and/or enrichment services
