Who Are We?

For more than 35 years, Barnabus has been supporting people experiencing homelessness in Manchester. We provide a range of services to help them make the difficult journey out of homelessness. This begins by meeting the immediate needs of people in crisis and ends when they are able to support themselves in stable accommodation.

We believe a safe home is a basic human right and that every person deserves dignity, compassion and trauma-informed support as they rebuild their lives. Our long-term, relational support helps break cycles of poverty, trauma and homelessness for good.

Our Ethos

Our ethos is to meet each person where they are, to treat them with the dignity and humanity they deserve, and to encourage them to find their identity and a community of supportive people.

We exist to help people into a home, but we recognise that people need emotional support to do that. Health and wellbeing are at the heart of all our services, alongside helping people to learn the life skills they never learned, or have forgotten.

We are a compassionate, non-judgemental service, open to anyone regardless of faith.

Barnabus is a Christian charity, called to serve and support people experiencing homelessness in our city. Our work is rooted in and flows from our shared Christian faith. Our leadership team, Board and some of our staff and volunteers are active Christians.

While being an active Christian is not a requirement for this role, we expect candidates to be understanding of the Christian faith and supportive of the goals of the charity.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
