Event Assistant – Farmers Weekly
Location: Hybrid: Sutton office Salary: £25,000 (dependent on experience) + company benefits

About the Role
As an Events Assistant at Farmers Weekly, you will support the delivery of over 20 events annually, including:
- Flagship competitions like Britain’s Fittest Farmer
- Industry events such as the Harvest Festival
- On-farm sessions, round tables, and conferences
- Practical webinars and online events
You’ll gain experience across event planning, sponsorship coordination, operations, and webinar delivery, all while learning from an experienced and supportive team. This role offers quick responsibility and exposure, with varied tasks such as:
- Coordinating live events
- Conducting site visits
- Supporting sponsors and logistics

What You’ll Be Doing
- Assist with venue coordination, supplier management, and equipment requirements.
- Support on-site event delivery, including set-up, breakdown, site visits, and client meetings alongside the Events Manager.
- Help with webinar delivery, including registration pages, rehearsals, and reporting.
- Contribute to social media activity around Farmers Weekly events/projects with engaging content and ideas.
- Build relationships across editorial, sales, marketing, and operations teams to deliver high-quality event experiences.
Skills & Requirements
Essential
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- A proactive, enthusiastic, and flexible approach to work.
- Confidence in collaborating across teams and supporting diverse projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to travel within the UK (and support events outside standard office hours when required).
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience supporting events, webinars, or live projects.
- Experience creating social media content.
