About Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA)

Role Purpose

The Events Executive is responsible for assisting in the planning, development, and delivery of high-quality events and exhibitions for RINA members and industry partners, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management and delivery of all global events and exhibitions run by RINA HQ.
    • Events include but are not limited to: conferences, gala dinners, training courses, smaller meetings and webinars.
  • Take ownership of selected events through to delivery, including planning, execution, and post-event evaluation.
  • Support RINA Branches and Divisions in delivering their events and exhibitions as required.
  • Source event vendors, including venues, catering, audiovisual (AV), and other suppliers, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Effectively use event management platforms and systems, CRM tools, and the website to support event delivery.
    • Systems include: Canva, e-shot, Cvent, Guild CRM, Monday.com.
  • Manage the marketing calendar and create content as needed.
  • Support the implementation of effective events marketing strategies in collaboration with the Marketing Team.

Cross-Organisational Collaboration

  • Become a key member of the Membership Experience Delivery Team.
  • Work closely with all RINA teams to align sales strategies with content and promotional efforts.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Team to ensure effective communication between Members, Industry Partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide support to the Events & Strategic Partnerships Team as required.

General

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics.
  • Ensure that all recording systems provided are used following the correct processes.
  • Utilise system data for strategic decision-making and to enhance the overall sales process.
  • Represent RINA at external events as part of the delivery team when required.
  • Undertake global travel as needed.
  • Any other ad hoc activities as required.

Specific Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required

  • Relevant Degree Qualification with events or marketing experience.
  • Industry experience within the maritime community (desirable).
  • Proven ability to work proactively and independently as a confident self-starter.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to high standards.
  • Excellent organisational, marketing, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Location and Working Arrangements

  • Salary: £30,000 plus benefits.
  • This role is based at RINA’s central London office, close to Trafalgar Square.
  • RINA operates a hybrid working model, with employees expected to work from the office up to three days per week, depending on business and event requirements.
  • The role may involve occasional evening or weekend work, as well as UK and international travel, to support the delivery of events.
