Company Description
Searcys are seeking an Events Supervisor to join their team at the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). The role involves overall coordination and ensuring profitability during events, supporting managers while delivering exceptional event operations at a large range of bespoke spaces.
The IET is a multidisciplinary professional engineering institution, founded in 2006 as a merger of two historic bodies: the Institution of Electrical Engineers (est. 1871) and the Institution of Incorporated Engineers (est. 1884).

Job Description
Working as part of Searcys' dynamic events team, the Event Floor Supervisor will:
- Co-ordinate and manage the food & beverage and event operations across multiple spaces, ensuring seamless execution.
- Support front-of-house teams on assigned events.
- Provide comprehensive briefings to all stakeholders involved in event delivery.
The role is permanent, full-time (40 hours per week) with a salary of £33,000 per annum.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure events are set up and delivered as per event specifications.
- Coordinate with the kitchen & events team to deliver successful operations.
- Conduct short- and long-term planning for efficient event execution.
- Maintain sales targets to meet or exceed budgeted profitability.
- Lead the event teams to build lasting customer relationships (critical for repeat business and promotion).
- Align event execution with company objectives while ensuring optimal guest experience.

Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year’s experience in event management.
- Proven ability to plan, organise, and execute end-to-end events with precision.
- Excellent prioritisation skills for high-pressure environments.
- Strong attention to detail and high-level organisation.
- Clear communication (verbal & written) for client and staff engagement.
- Adaptable and solution-focused, with business-savvy acumen.
- Positive attitude, self-motivated, and composed under pressure.
