For over 170 years, The Telegraph’s stories, dispatches, interviews, and investigations have set the agenda, sparked debate, and provided generations of readers with a trusted source of news, information, and opinion.

In 2018, TMG set out a bold vision to become a subscription-first business with the goal to reach one million subscriptions by 2023, which we achieved. We wouldn’t be one of the world's most successful media organisations without the talent, determination, and creative spirit of our people. As our readers’ needs evolve, it's more important than ever that we recruit original thinkers and innovative individuals who can keep us at the forefront of our industry. That means not only journalists but also marketers, analysts, designers, engineers, and much more.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Live Journalism/Events, the Events Manager will coordinate and execute the physical and technical delivery of our live journalism portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Production you will bring editorial concepts to life as high-impact live experiences.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day planning, coordination, and on-site delivery of each event—ensuring everything from intimate newsroom briefings to large-scale festivals is executed to the highest professional standards, on time, and within budget.

This is a fixed term contract until November 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event Coordination: Translate event concepts into detailed operational plans. Liaise closely with editorial and marketing teams to ensure concepts are feasible, well-coordinated, and delivered within budget.
  • Technical & Creative Delivery: Coordinate all technical aspects of event delivery, including AV setup, lighting, stage design, and livestreaming infrastructure. Maintain strict brand aesthetic consistency across all physical touchpoints.
  • Venue & Supplier Management: Research, source, and act as the main point of contact for venues, third-party production agencies, and ticketing vendors. Assist with contract negotiations to ensure maximum value for money.
  • On-Site Coordination: Act as the main stage manager or lead coordinator on-site. Manage floor schedules, technicians, freelancers, and front-of-house staff to ensure seamless execution on event day.
  • Timeline & Project Management: Create and track master production timelines. Coordinate with internal editorial, marketing, and commercial teams to ensure all stakeholders meet their operational deadlines.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Complete necessary event safety documentation, including risk assessments, crowd management plans, and compliance checklists.
  • Budget Tracking: Manage day-to-day event expenses, track operational costs against the budget, and process supplier invoices.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
