Relais & Chateau at Thornbury Castle seeks a dynamic, experienced Events Manager to deliverexceptional hospitality and first-class event experiences. You’ll play a pivotal role in managing bookings, creating unforgettable moments, and ensuring smooth operations from proposal to ceremony.

Nestled on 15 acres, Thornbury Castle remains the only operational Tudor Castle hotel in England. Our £10m refurbishment has revived its regal grandeur, featuring:
- 26 luxury rooms and suites
- Award-winning restaurant and bar
- Two bespoke meeting/conference venues
- Located: A 20-minute drive from Bristol

Key Responsibilities
- Lead our wedding and event department—smoothening the journey from inquiry to realization
- First point of contact for wedding and private event queries, converting leads into bookings
- Prepare proposals, contracts, and invoices with meticulous accuracy
- Oversee bookings, payments, and contracts while maintaining compliance with health & safety
Event Coordination & Sales
- Host show rounds, wedding fairs, and internal events to promote the Castle
- Optimise sales opportunities and support the hotel’s growth strategy
- Establish strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and clients
Client Relations & Operations
- Respond proactively to guest concerns, ensuring their needs are met before and after the event
- Follow diary management, target KPIs, and company policies diligently
- Train equipe on villa-run events and functions
Essential Skills & Experience
✔ Minimum 2 years’ experience in hotel-based wedding or event coordination ✔ Extensive experience with Opera or similar booking system (event management) ✔ Strong financial acumen—monitoring billing, invoicing, and payments ✔ Multitasking with precision—managing multiple events simultaneously
