Relais & Chateau at Thornbury Castle are seeking a dynamic and driven Events Manager to join our professional and hard-working team. Someone who has the passion to deliver a truly memorable and impressive experience for our guests. You will be working in a unique and beautifully restored Castle, creating 5* experiences for our guests.
About Us
Set on 15 acres of beautiful land, Thornbury Castle Hotel is the only Tudor Castle operating as a hotel in England. The Castle has undergone a multi-million pound refurbishment program bringing back to life the regal grandeur of its past. Located 20 minutes’ drive from Bristol, it offers 26 rooms and suites, an award-winning restaurant, bar, and two unique meeting and conference spaces.
Our company goal is to deliver "refined and personalised hospitality" to enable our hotel to be a place where all guests can relax, enjoy themselves, and have a break from normal life. To feel like royalty in a unique place with unique people. 1 Michelin Key Hotel and 3AA Rosette Restaurant.

We are looking for a driven, dynamic, and experienced event planner. The role will be hotel-based, managing the day-to-day diary, planning events and proposals, and supporting the hotel with appointments, show-arounds, and more.
This is an exciting opportunity to be a key part of the hotel’s planned growth over the next couple of years.
- Be the first point of contact for all wedding and event enquiries and conversion into actual bookings.
- Prepare proposals and contracts, check billings and invoices, and process payments.
- Use strong attention to detail to produce accurate internal function sheets.
- Ability to identify customers’ needs and respond proactively to all of their concerns
- Greet all function organisers and the bride for each wedding. Be the point of contact and fully responsible for the ceremony
- Sales-driven and able to optimise every sales opportunity
- Carry out show rounds, organise, and attend wedding fairs and internal events to promote the Castle and its unique offerings.
- Meet targets, KPI’s, schedules, follow company policies and procedures, and comply with all health and safety regulations.

- Ability to deal with all enquiries and provide information and quotations via phone and email.

Full-time, permanent position, 40 hours a week (5 days a week)
£30,000 per annum
Additional share of the tips and gratuities paid monthly (approximately £2,500 a year)
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience of hotel-based wedding and events coordination.
- Preferably experience with Opera or similar.
