Company Description

Searcys are looking for an Events Manager to join the team at The Pump Room.

As an Event Manager for Searcys you will be responsible for the overall coordination and profitability of an event, supporting the senior Managers and coordinating the team during the event.

The Pump Room sits at the heart of the Roman Baths – all grandeur, chandeliers, history and Champagne energy. By day, we serve refined restaurant dining and one of the most celebrated afternoon teas in the country. By night, we transform into an unforgettable events space hosting glamorous dinners, private celebrations and show-stopping experiences.

Job Description

The Event Manager will be working as part of an exciting events team to deliver the food & beverage, event operations at a large selection of events spaces. Will also help the front of house operation on assigned events, providing a comprehensive briefing to all team members involved in the delivery of the event.

Job Type: Flexible

Salary: £35K including Tronc

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end catering operations for corporate events, private functions, and large-scale hospitality events.
  • Coordinate all event catering logistics and staffing.
  • Work closely with senior manager to understand event requirements and deliver tailored catering solutions that exceed expectations.
  • Lead and coordinate catering teams to ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service.
  • Oversee event set-up, service delivery, and breakdown, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to event timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health & safety, and licensing regulations at all events.
  • Monitor staffing levels and resource allocation to support efficient event delivery.
  • Act as the main point of contact during live events, proactively resolving operational issues and ensuring an exceptional guest experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year's experience in event management
  • Thorough understanding of the event and meeting management process – conception to completion
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, multi-faceted, creative environment and able to work well under pressure
  • Meticulous organizational abilities; high attention to detail
  • Concise and effective verbal and written communication
  • Ability to adapt to challenges and opportunities with a solution-oriented perspective
  • Excellent strategic thinking and critical reasoning skills
  • Creative, positive energy, self-directed, amiable, and composed under pressure
