Relais & Chateau at Thornbury Castle are seeking a dynamic and driven Events Manager to join their professional and hardworking team. This role involves spearheading 5-star experiences within a unique, beautifully restored Tudor Castle, shaping unforgettable stays for visitors.


About Thornbury Castle Hotel

Nestled on 15 acres of stunning land, Thornbury Castle Hotel is the only operating Tudor Castle hotel in England. Following a multi-million-pound refurbishment, it has fully revived its regal grandeur.

Located just 20 minutes from Bristol, the hotel offers:

Job Description

We are searching for a driven, dynamic, and experienced Events Manager to oversee day-to-day operational excellence across events planning and reservations. Based out of the hotel, your responsibilities will include:

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Be the first point of contact for all wedding and event enquiries, converting leads into confirmed bookings.
  • Prepare detailed event proposals and contracts, ensuring intricate accuracy in ** preciosions, schedules, and logistics**.
  • Oversee billing, invoicing, and payment processing, maintaining meticulous financial records.
  • Develop precise internal function sheets to support seamless event execution.
  • Anticipate guest needs with proactive communication, addressing concerns effectively.
  • Welcome and accompany function organisers and brides for weddings—acting as primary host and sole ceremony contact.
  • Sales-driven role: Optimise every engagement to maximise bookings and revenue.
  • Organise show rounds, participate in wedding fairs, and curate internal brand-focused events to promote Thornbury Castle.
  • Adhere to company policies, KPIs, schedules, and health & safety regulations.

Requirements


  • Full-time, permanent position: 40-hour workweek.
  • Competitive base salary: £30,000 per annum.
  • Bonus opportunity: Monthly share of tips/gratuities (~£2,500/year).

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in hotel-based wedding and events coordination.
  • Preferred qualification: Experience with Opera properties or equivalent high-end operators.
