Events Marketing Internship: Part Time
Available positions – x1 Intern
Location - United Kingdom
Duration - 12 months Internship
Hours - Approx 5 hours per week
We are looking for a bright, curious, and ambitious university student with a keen interest in event marketing to take part in our 12-month training program. This is a paid opportunity to develop new skills and gain some first-hand experience in events marketing.
This is a part-time position, working 5 hours per week. Designed for a university student to gain experience around their studies, this role is not suitable for those looking for a full-time placement or graduate role.
You will be learning from a first-class marketing department that will ensure you get a real breadth of experience across our Marketing function. You will get to know the ins and outs of a real Software firm, and be involved directly in our most important marketing projects.
The job will involve:
- Supporting the team on our portfolio of events, which includes our flagship conference, CMO Series Live, as well as exhibitions, roundtables, and client social events.
- Helping to source venues, managing guest lists, and researching suppliers.
- Creating content for marketing campaigns to promote these events and client-led community work, using a combination of social media channels paired with email marketing.
- Post-event reporting to understand the return on investment from the events.

We’ll teach you all about how to do the job here, so it’s more important you come with some core strengths, behaviours, and skills that you’ve gained from university or through a part-time job alongside studying. Here are some things that will help you stand out:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
