Events Officer

6-12 Months Temporary Events Officer – Maternity Leave Cover

Location: Derby, Bristol, or London


About the Role

A fixed-term opportunity to step into the Events team during a period of maternity leave. This role offers meaningful exposure to a fast-paced, global events function at one of the world’s most iconic engineering companies, with the chance to make a real impact from day one.

The Events Officer supports the delivery of high-quality events across Rolls-Royce, ensuring every event aligns with the company’s corporate narrative and is delivered on time, on budget, and with impact.

Ideal for those who are highly organised, proactive, and passionate about delivering exceptional event experiences. The role provides opportunities to:

  • Engage with business divisions across the company
  • Build senior stakeholder relationships
  • Develop a broad understanding of strategic communications in a global environment

Key Responsibilities

Event Planning & Delivery

  • Provides hands-on coordination across the full event lifecycle, including:
    • Logistics planning and venue management
    • Supotyping to stakeholder briefings
    • On-site event delivery
    • Supporting the continuity of presentations, signage, and material design
  • Manages event budgets, including expenditure tracking and timely purchase order raises
  • Updates the central events calendar to ensure effective priorisation across a busy portfolio

Stakeholder Experience & Delegation

  • Acts as a key point of contact for delegates and internal stakeholders, ensuring:
    • Queries are resolved professionally and promptly
    • Experiences align with Rolls-Royce’s values and high standards
  • Supports briefing and preparation of leaders and speakers in collaboration with Communications Business Partners
  • Aligns messaging strategy for event engagement

Content & Brand Compliance

  • Ensures all event materials are consistent with Rolls-Royce’s visual identity guidelines
  • Collaborates with Content & Channels to maximise event outreach via:
    • Social media
    • Internal channels
    • Media coverage

Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Tracks event success against agreed metrics including:
    • Attendance
    • Delegate feedback
    • Post-event coverage
  • Compiles evaluation reports and shares insights to enhance cross-functional processes
  • contributes to developing content tools and operational processes as the Event function scales

Role Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • At least 2 years’ experience in events coordination, ideally in a corporate environment
  • Proven track record of delivering high-standard events in both domestic and potentially international formats
  • Highly organised and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent stakeholder management skills
  • High ability to communicate responsibly and clearly with internal and external personnel, including senior executives
  • Proactive, self-starting, and agile in handling dynamic work demands
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English

Desirable Attributes

Experience in:

  • Engineering, aerospace, or technology sector events
  • Use of event management tools (e.g., registration platforms)
  • Multicultural or cross-border event environments
  • Budget tracking and basic financial administration
