Events Organiser

Operations Lead – Private Equity Conferences (London-based)

About United Media

United Media specialises in building large-scale industry media and conference products (insurance, finance, retail, etc.). Since its launch, the company has organically launched 8 media companies and acquired 1.


The Opportunity

In this owner-lead role, you will be responsible for full oversight and execution of 10 European private equity conferences annually, covering:

  • Venue selection, logistics, and operations
  • Supplier management (catering, AV, decor, etc.)
  • On-site quality control
  • Delivering a seamless attendee experience

You will be based in London, working closely with a high-performing team and the founder/CEO in a fast-moving startup environment with unlimited growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

This role is highly varied, but core tasks include:

Supplier & Vendor Relations

  • Conduct detailed research and sourcing of suppliers (branding, AV, decor, etc.).
  • Negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Manage supplier relationships, addressing issues and optimising services.
  • Budget oversight—monitoring changes and raising alerts pre-event.

Event Execution & Planning

  • Plan VIP-sponsored events (lunches, dinners, after-parties).
  • Coordinate venue logistics, ensuring smooth on-site operations.
  • Provide real-time support during conferences (sanity checks, troubleshooting).

Internal Operations & Team Support

  • Consolidate internal queries and ensure clarity across teams.
  • Inventory & asset tracking: Manage promotional materials (banners, signage, etc.).
  • Resolve brand consistency and design compliance issues.

Volunteer Management

  • Hire, train and manage up to 40 volunteers per event (recruitment, co-ordination, supervision).

Start Date

Flexible. On-site role (Monday–Friday) in a central London office (4-minute walk from London Victoria Station).
