About The Role

The Production Technician will be responsible for technical production in venue/stage events across EMEA, and solo production of on-campus video shoots, webinars, virtual interviews, podcasts, taking place in our London office. The ideal candidate will have expert-level experience in stage event technology, live video production, videography, lighting, live demos with laptops and mobile devices, and more. This role will report to the Senior Technical Producer.

This is an onsite role and will require 5 days a week in our London office.

This role will also require paid travel for technical support of on-stage demos in regional and global event venues.

  • Support production-technology and demos at OpenAI stage events across EMEA.
  • Be the OpenAI Event team’s technical advocate, liaising with agencies, venue staff, and vendors to ensure content needs and quality expectations are met.
  • Direct hands-on management of audio levels, presentations, and video switching; management videoconferencing sources, and livestreaming.
  • Manage pre-show equipment testing and checklists. Help maintain and improve upon production processes for live events.
  • Staff and/or manage various production roles during live events (Technical Director, PTZ Operator, Audio Engineer, Stream Engineer, Graphics/Playback Tech, DIT, Editing, etc.).
  • Produce live webinars and live-to-tape content from dedicated office spaces.
  • Solve production issues in high-pressure environments with grace.
  • Manage production intake, coordination, and scheduling with internal and external partners.

You might thrive in this role if you have:

  • 8+ years of professional experience in operating live productions.
  • An understanding of videography and livestreaming.
  • Experience working directly in small livestream studios.
  • Experience and fluency with pro-tier production equipment (Ross, Sony, Barco, Yamaha, Shure, Q-SYS, Panasonic, ClearCom).
  • Knowledge of video switchers, keyed graphics, audio mixing and EQ, signal flow routing and distribution, live streaming encoders and streaming protocols, PTZ camera systems.
  • Experience and fluency with user-tier production equipment (Streamdeck, Blackmagic, USB mics, 4K ptz webcams).
  • Familiarity with professional cameras and lenses.
  • Videography skills including lighting, composition, color-balance, advanced camera settings.
