We now want to seek assurance that the Academy’s recommendations are being embedded and driving improvements, and that the integrity of the exams we approve is preserved through robust quality management processes, which is a requirement of our standards, Exam Quality Panel) whose role will be to provide advice to the GMC on the maintenance of our standards via a quality assurance exercise.
We Are Looking For a Panel Chair To Lead This Work
With experience in at least one of the following categories:
- Designing, developing, and/or delivering regulated professional exams
- Governance or quality assurance of regulated professional exams
- A Postgraduate Medical Dean
- A current doctor in post-Foundation training with an interest in medical education and/or assessment
- A doctor with experience of supporting doctors in training to take regulated exams

Candidates must also have experience of chairing a multidisciplinary panel or committee.
Your experience can be from any background or sector. If you are a doctor, you must be registered with the GMC with a licence to practice and be in good standing.
Terms of Appointment
- Daily Fee: £375
- Remuneration: For travel and expenses
- Pre-reading: Desk-based, done at your convenience anywhere in the UK
- Panel Meetings: Throughout 2027 in person on the following dates:
- 18-19 February in London
- 22-23 April in Manchester
- 21-22 June in London
- 21-22 September in Manchester
- 22-23 November in London

As Panel Chair, you must be able to commit to attend all dates, along with online training in January 2027. The dates are subject to change and may not all be needed.
