Looking for a role where you'll play a vital part in keeping the UK's rail infrastructure safe?

We're seeking a Structural Examiner to undertake examinations of rail structures across the network, helping to identify defects, assess structural condition, and support the safe management of critical assets.

  • Escalate serious or safety-critical defects in line with company and client procedures
  • Undertake reconnaissance visits and support planning of examination activities
  • Work closely with operational teams to coordinate access and enabling works
  • Support examinations involving rope access, work at height, confined spaces, and over-water structures where competent to do so
  • Contribute to improvements in safety, reporting quality, productivity, and examination processes
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, operational teams, and stakeholders

What You’ll Get

  • Opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of rail infrastructure assets
  • Exposure to complex and technically challenging structural examinations
  • Ongoing training and professional development within a specialist engineering environment
  • The chance to develop additional competencies across rail access, rope access, and inspection disciplines
  • A supportive safety-first culture with experienced technical and operational teams
  • Involvement in projects that directly contribute to the safety and reliability of the railway network
  • Career progression opportunities within a growing Rail & Infrastructure division
  • A role where your expertise directly influences asset management decisions and public safety

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
