Milk Education is currently recruiting for an experienced and highly organised Exams Officer to join a secondary school in Gateshead.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced examinations professional or school administrator with a strong understanding of the examination process to take responsibility for the effective administration and smooth running of internal and external examinations.
Working closely with the Exams Manager, school leadership, staff, students, parents, awarding bodies, and external stakeholders, you will play a vital role in ensuring all examinations are planned, managed, and conducted in line with JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements.
π‘ We're Looking For Someone Who Has:
- Previous experience working as an Exams Officer or within examinations administration
- Strong knowledge of JCQ regulations and examination procedures
- Experience working with awarding body systems and online examination platforms
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
- Strong IT skills and confidence using internal and external systems
- The ability to remain calm and organised during busy examination periods
- A professional, reliable, and proactive approach

π― Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and administer all internal and external examinations in line with JCQ and awarding body regulations
- Manage examination entries, registrations, amendments, withdrawals, and candidate information
- Organise examination timetables, rooming, seating plans, resources, and invigilation
- Coordinate access arrangements and reasonable adjustments for eligible candidates
- Ensure examinations are conducted correctly and securely
- Manage the secure storage and dispatch of examination scripts and confidential materials
- Liaise with students, staff, parents, awarding bodies, and external stakeholders
- Manage examination results, post-results services, and the distribution of certificates
- Maintain accurate examination records and data
- Keep up to date with changes to JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements
