About This Role

Work where it matters most, achieve what matters more

We have an opportunity for a highly organised, enthusiastic and committed professional to oversee and manage all of our examination processes.

Responsibilities

The Exams Officer is responsible for managing all aspects of the school’s internal and external examination procedures and ensuring that the process is managed accurately and efficiently so that students have an examination environment that will allow them the best opportunity to succeed.

This key role requires you to have excellent communication skills to ensure effective liaison with Exam Boards, students, staff, and Senior Management. You must have excellent prioritisation and organisational skills and a keen eye for detail. A high level of IT proficiency is important and prior experience working in an exams department would be an advantage, but not essential as full training will be given. You will have a proven track record of working with a high level of accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality and be a highly organised individual with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise a busy workload.

Hours

Although the average hours for the post are 37 per week, you will be required to work in excess of these hours in the approach to and during the main exam season, typically from March to the end of June. Time off in lieu will then be given at other times.

Why Work for Ormiston Academies Trust?

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
