Organisation: FCDO Services Location: Hanslope, South East England (MK19 7BH) Working Arrangement: Hybrid (office/Hanslope Park, Milton Keynes + frequent London travel) Contract Type: Fixed-term – Full-time Length: 3 months Closing Date: 11:55 pm, Thursday 16th July 2026 Salary: £31,898 per annum (+ £1,750 location allowance) Reference number: 469739

Key Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Support for leadership: Develop a close working relationship with the CEO, anticipating needs, managing priorities, and maintaining secure operational flow.
- Diary & logistics management: Coordinate appointments (UK/international), organise travel, and prepare agendas, briefings, and Minute paperwork for critical committees.
- Strategic liaison: Adjudicate challenging decisions in alignment with the organisation’s goals, ensuring oversight of sensitive matters.
- Reference the "CEO’s work tools": Proficiency with MS Office Suite (advance roles) and tactful diplomacy with stakeholders.
- Organisational efficiency: Allocating resources, problem-solving bottlenecks, and ensuring leadership workflows are streamlined.
- Client engagement: Facilitate VIP/guest visits, deploy global embassy interactions as required.

- Represent the CEO (internally/externally) in a professional capacity.
- Research and prepare necessary documentation for transactions.

Must-Have Experience & Attributes
Professional Background
Required expertise:
- Executive or senior-duty EA/assistant across government, diplomatic, or high-level corporate settings.
- Demonstrated diplomacy, proactive conflict resolution, and judgement in high-stakes scenarios.
- Experience with secure information handling (including GDPR or equivalent protocols in public-sector contexts).
Skills & Competencies
- Organisational acumen: MS Office, calendar/diary management tools (Outlook, Teams, etc.).
- Communication: Civility, clarity, and ability to communicate at all seniority levels.
- Tact & discretion: Prior experience with confidential matters.
- Trauma resilience: Comfortable in fluctuating workloads with matter urgency and sensitivity.
