Temporary Executive Assistant to Principal
Location: Hackney Job Type: Full-Time | Temporary Cover Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm (occasional later finishes required for Governor meetings) Salary: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)
An outstanding secondary school is seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to provide high-level executive support to the Principal, Senior Vice Principal, Executive Leadership Team, Trust, and Governors.
This is a demanding, fast-paced temporary position requiring an accomplished Executive Assistant with a proven track record of supporting senior executives in a complex organisation. The successful candidate will be highly organised, discreet, proactive, and confident in managing multiple priorities while handling sensitive and confidential information.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive executive support to the Principal and Senior Leadership Team.
- Manage complex and constantly changing diaries, appointments, and schedules.
- Coordinate high-level meetings, including Governors’ meetings, preparing agendas, papers, and accurate minutes where required.
- Handle confidential correspondence and communications with professionalism and discretion.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support strategic projects and ensure actions are followed through to completion.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and executive documentation to a high standard.
- Maintain strict confidentiality across all aspects of the role.

The Ideal Candidate
Essential Qualifications:
- Significant, proven experience working as an Executive Assistant at senior leadership or executive level.
- Extensive experience managing complex diaries and executive communications.
- Experience organising senior-level meetings, governance meetings, or board meetings.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Experience handling highly confidential and sensitive information with absolute discretion.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Note: This role is not suitable for candidates whose experience is solely within general administration or standard administrative support. Applications will only be considered from candidates with substantial Executive Assistant experience at the executive level.

Additional Information
- Full-time temporary cover position.
- Working hours: 8:00am–4:30pm (Monday to Friday), with occasional later finishes for Governor meetings.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) required.
- Relevant safeguarding checks will be carried out prior to placement.
Important: This Executive Assistant role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, with all background recruitment checks (including an enhanced DBS on the Update Service) mandatory.
