About the Role:

As an Executive Director of Business Development & Alliance Management, you will play a pivotal role in shaping BioNTech’s strategic partnerships and driving impactful collaborations in the biotechnology and biopharmaceutical industries. Your work will directly contribute to our mission of advancing innovative therapies and achieving corporate goals.

Based in our UK office with a hybrid arrangement, you will lead a dynamic team, fostering their growth while ensuring alignment with BioNTech’s priorities. Your expertise will help establish BioNTech as a partner of choice, guiding complex negotiations and alliances that influence our success.

Your Contribution:

Lead and mentor a team, setting strategic priorities aligned with business needs while supporting professional development Manage long-term complex alliances by building trust with strategic partners and ensuring operational excellence Establish efficient alliance governance frameworks to ensure contract compliance across forums (e.g., JSC, JDC) Proactively address alliance risks and conflicts, proposing mitigation strategies and maintaining collaborative relationships Develop and execute business development strategies that align with corporate objectives Drive deal transactions including structuring agreements, negotiating contracts, and obtaining governance approvals Establish BioNTech as a partner-of-choice through solution-based transactions and relationship-focused alliance management aimed at achieving mutually beneficial outcomes.

A Good Match:

Bachelor's degree: MBA or JD preferred, with a background in science Over 10 years' experience in biotechnology/pharmaceutical business development and alliance management Proven track record in negotiating complex agreements and managing complex global alliances People management experience Deep knowledge of drug discovery/development processes and industry trends Strong analytical skills to evaluate alliance risks/issues and recommend solutions Exceptional communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels, including C-level executives Collaborative mindset with the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
