Executive Housekeeper I
Housekeeping & Laundry Manager Location: Ware, Hertfordshire, SG12 0SD | Full-Time | Onsite
Job Summary
Responsible for overseeing daily shift operations of Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club, and (when applicable) Laundry. Leads a team to maintain cleanliness and standards across guestrooms, public spaces, and employee areas. Ensures timely communication of guestroom status, conducts inspections, enforces corrective actions, and prioritises guest and employee satisfaction while adhering to operational budgets.
Key Duties
🏨 Managing Housekeeping Operations
- Coordinate guestroom status updates with Front Desk for efficiency.
- Collaborate with Engineering on maintenance and upkeep of guestrooms.
- Oversee cleaning schedules and supply inventory, ensuring adequate stock.
- Assign tasks based on check-out/timely housekeeping assignments.
- Lead inspections of guestrooms and public spaces, addressing deficiencies.
- Secure guestroom, cleaning, and uniform supply orders.

💰 Ensuring Departmental Cost Management
- Participate in budget tracking for controllable expenses (supplies, staffing).
- Align departmental goals with property-wide financial objectives.
- Analyse budgets, statements, and reports to support financial strategy.
🤝 Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service
- Address guest complaints and feedback proactively.
- Foster a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
- Empower staff to demonstrate exceptional hospitality.
👥 Conducting HR Activities
- Supervise staffing levels to meet guest needs, operations, and costs.
- Administer fair disciplinary actions (SOPs and LSOPsguided).
- Train new hires, providing ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Assist in hiring, performance reviews, and progressive discipline.
- Support employee orientation and compliance training.

Education & Experience

Option 1: High school diploma/GED + 2+ years in housekeeping or related roles.

Option 2: 2-year degree (Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, etc.) + no prior work experience required.
