Job Summary
The Housekeeping department is looking for a Housekeeping Assistant Manager to oversee daily shift operations for Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club, and, if applicable, Laundry.
You will lead staff to ensure guestrooms, public spaces, and employee areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness. Your role includes inspections, corrective actions, employee accountability, and maintaining a passionate approach to guest and associate satisfaction—all while balancing the department’s budget.
About the Role
Who We Look For (Experience, Education & Composure)
You should meet one of the following qualifications:
- A high school diploma (or equivalent) plus at least 2 years of experience in housekeeping, or related departments (e.g., hospitality).
- OR — a 2-year accredited degree in fields like Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major (no paid experience required).
We want someone who takes initiative, commands respect, and thrives under pressure. Your ability to handle guest and employee interactions with decisiveness, clear communication, and a commitment to excellence makes a standout candidate.
Responsibilities
Managing Housekeeping Operations
- Coordinate guestroom status updates with Front Desk to ensure efficient workflow.
- Collaborate with the Engineering team when guest maintenance is needed.
- Supervise the property wide general cleaning schedule and restock guidelines.
- Assign work by cross-referencing refreshes, check-outs, and cleaning tasks.
- Ensure storage rooms are stocked correctly with supply levels in line with occupancy needs.
- Communicate clean statuses, track missed checks, and implement follow-up reviews.
- Oversee purchasing of cleaning products, guestroom supplies, and uniforms/mission clothing to maintain store and quality standards.

Managing Department Financial Goals
- Participate in managing departmental expenses to align with budget goals.
- Monitor department expenses, monitor payroll/progress reports, and translate budget numbers into effective operational outcomes.
Creating Exceptional Guest Performance
- Handle guest complaints and concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Inspire employees through recognition, clear support, and role-model training.
- Ensure every daily departmental meeting intentionally focuses on continuous improvement and guest satisfaction.
Supporting Human Resources
- Support investigations into employee incidents as needed.
- Oversee staffing levels while balancing financial, operational, and guest-focused goals.
- Ensure staff are actively informed of expectations, consistent policies, and disciplinary structures.
- Offer professional feedback, mentorship, and support to new and experienced employees.
- Represent leadership through professional coaching and succession planning.
- Play a role in interviewing, orientation, disciplinary processes, and performance reviews.
