About the Role
Gleeds Infrastructure specialises in delivering projects that create tangible benefits for individuals, communities, and economies. As we expand our ambitious growth plans for 2026, we are looking for an Executive Quantity Surveyor (or aspiring Senior Quantity Surveyor) with a passion for consultancy, commission management, and commercial leadership.
Key Responsibilities
You will partner with clients to provide pre- and post-contract/commercial management, with a typical day involving:

Cost Management & Reporting
- Oversee budgets, track costs, and ensure financial accuracy.

Contract Administration
- Manage NEC & JCT contracts, handle valuations, payments, and disputes.

Procurement & Supplier Engagement
- Support tendering processes and ensure value for money.

Commercial Assurance
- Audit projects, verify estimates, and review financial compliance.

Risk & Change Management
- Identify financial risks and manage compensation events.

Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams.

Software & Systems Expertise
- Utilise key tools like PRISM, CEMAR, Costx, and Viewpoint.

Main & Subcontractor Management
- Oversee project finances and ensuring compliance.

Account & Client Management
- Manage daily accounts and commissions for effective delivery.

Line Management
- Supervise and support junior staff, ensuring their learning and development.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- HNC, HND, or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Construction Law, or a relevant discipline.
- Desirable: Professional qualifications (e.g., RICS, CIOB, CICES, CIPS) or membership of a Chartered Institute (support available if not attained).
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management in the UK infrastructure sector.
- Pre- and post-contract appointment experience.
- Previous line management experience.
- Strong understanding of maintaining client relationships and delivering value-added consultancy.
- Experience with NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
- Passion for infrastructure, sustainability, and delivering excellence in projects.
