Executive Supply Chain Partner (ESCP)
About the Role
The Executive Supply Chain Partner (ESCP) acts as a trusted advisor to Global 1000 organizations’ and government agencies’ senior decision-makers, including SVPs, EVPs, and Chief Supply Chain Officers (CSCOs).
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with member-clients to identify mission-critical priorities and key initiatives
- Aiding in achieving enterprise-wide strategic goals through:
- Strategy definition, development, coaching, and critique
- Organizational transformation assistance
- Vision and strategy development and execution support
- Aggregation and delivery of Gartner research insights on priority initiatives
- Acting as a confidential business advisor ("consigliere") to CE-level clients
By leveraging the ESCP’s guidance, clients can attain goals more quickly, cost-effectively, and with heightened assurance of success.
What You Will Do
Relationship Management
Manages up to 24 senior executive member relationships while collaborating with Customer Success Managers (CSMs) and Senior Account Executives on account planning.
Key activities across the member lifecycle:

Pre-sale → Onboarding → Relationship maintenance → Delivery → Review → Renewal

Ensures seamless transitions from the sales team

Engages members meaningfully in substantive discussions

Develops detailed member profiles

Identifies client priorities and tailors engagement plans

Participates actively in quarterly account reviews

Prepares value-added member meetings
Sales and Marketing Support
- Focuses on member retention and regional growth initiatives
- Supports Gartner Sales in:
- Prospect cultivation
- Account plan refinement
- Value demonstration activities
Research Support
- Engages members in research studies, case panels, or focus groups
- Aligns feedback and insights from the membership base with Gartner research trends
- Collaborates with analyst teams to tailor research into CSCO-relevant deliverables
- Formats member input into valuable industry intelligence
Program Delivery
- Develops and delivers customized supply chain solutions via:
- Research insights
- Peer networking forums
- Executive coaching
- Supports supply chain maturation efforts through:
- Strategy consultancy
- Priority-setting guidance
- Supplier and technology strategy recommendations
- Maintains working affiliations with internal Gartner groups (analysts, research, community managers)
- Organizes and facilitates peer group meetings and roundtables (both onsite and virtual)

Content Development and Management
- Participates in expert-level presentations and forums
- Contributes relevant supply chain thought leadership to research communities
- Fosters member networking through:
- Supply Chain member portal (collaborative tools)
- Assisted connections
- Leads and capitaes roundtable discussions and Supply Chain Executive Series events
What You Will Need
Subject Matter Expertise
- Senior executive-level expertise in Supply Chain Strategy, Execution, and Performance Optimization as a:
- Current or former SVP, EVP of Supply Chain, or CSCO
- Executive who has managed P&L, senior teams, or multi-million-dollar operational budgets
- Demonstrable track record of transformative supply chain change initiatives
- Broad knowledge of industry-specific supply chain trends and challenges
Other Requirements
- Academic Background: University graduate (advanced degrees preferred)
- Background in Supply Chain Leadership: 10+ years as a CSCO, SVP/EVP, OR 5+ years in a similar executive role
- End-to-End Supply Chain Experience: Operational mastery of all stages (Procurement → Logistics → Demand Planning → Post-Launch Optimization)
- Leadership Attributes:
- Exceptional interpersonal communication for intimate C-level engagements
- Proven humility and adaptability to executive preferences
- Keen listening skills with proactive insight refinement
- Proven critical thinking skills for collaborative business advising
- Industry Understanding:
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain strategy
- Awareness of role’s operational aspects (performance metrics, KPIs, process enhancement)
- Capacity to integrate supply chain solutions with company-wide corporate strategy
- Performance Competencies:
- Cinched ambiguity management for action-oriented guidance
- Outstanding written and verbal rigor
- Consultative sophistication in group facilitation and presentation
- Sales and Business Development:
- Experience engaging CX-level executives (technical-problem-solving leveraged call)
