About Us
Sikla is a global manufacturer and supplier of modular steelwork and engineered support systems, delivering solutions for industrial and construction projects. Our systems improve installation efficiency, safety and quality, supported by BIM-integrated design workflows and off-site construction methodologies.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced CAD / BIM Engineer to join our engineering team, supporting the delivery of high-quality, buildable construction drawings using Sikla’s specialist steel support systems.
This is a hands-on technical role where you will work closely with engineers and project teams to produce clear, accurate and coordinated designs. You will contribute to efficient project delivery and help maintain high standards of drawing quality within the team.
This role is well suited to someone with solid experience in construction detailing who is looking to develop further within a collaborative engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate 2D drawings and coordinated 3D models using AutoCAD and relevant modelling tools
- Develop practical, buildable designs using Sikla modular steelwork systems
- Deliver coordinated, construction-ready drawing packages
- Ensure drawings align with relevant standards (e.g. Eurocodes UK NA, ISO 19650 BIM principles)
- Identify missing or unclear design information and seek clarification where needed
- Support the reduction of design queries by producing clear and complete drawings
- Work collaboratively with engineers and project teams to meet project requirements
- Support knowledge sharing within the team and assist less experienced colleagues where appropriate

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
