Role Description

The Experienced Engine Fitter will perform hands-on engine removal, fitting, and installation work on a range of Range Rover models in a busy workshop environment. Day-to-day tasks include:

The role also involves:

  • Collaborating with service advisors and technicians
  • Documenting work performed
  • Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order

This is a full-time, on-site position located in Dartford, requiring regular interaction with both colleagues and, when necessary, customers. The successful candidate will contribute to efficient workflow, timely turnaround of vehicles, and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical skills in engine fitting, removal, and installation for modern vehicles, ideally with experience on Range Rover models.
  • Competence in engine diagnostics, fault finding, and repair using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Familiarity with workshop safety standards, quality control procedures, and proper use of specialized tools and machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented workshop environment.
  • Proven experience in an automotive technician or engine fitter role; experience in a specialist or premium-brand workshop is an advantage.
  • Relevant vocational or technical qualification in motor vehicle engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, customer-focused service.
