Fire Glass UK Ltd

Fire Glass UK Ltd is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers, suppliers, and glaziers of fire and acoustic glass, and is looking to appoint a Glass operative at their Bristol branch.

Are you skilled, hands-on, and passionate about quality workmanship? Join our team as a Glass Operative, where you'll play a key role in producing high-quality glass products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

TASKS

  • Operate glass cutting and processing machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Cut and shape glass and mirrors to precise specifications using measuring and cutting tools.
  • Read patterns, drawings, and technical specifications to ensure accurate production.
  • Inspect glass for defects and maximise material usage.
  • Operate toughening furnaces and monitor production processes, making adjustments where required.
  • Maintain stock records, including glass batches and off-cuts.
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Follow Health & Safety procedures and company policies at all times.
  • Contribute to a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to the role as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience working within the glass manufacturing or processing industry.
  • Strong understanding of glass production techniques and processes.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions, solve problems, and work accurately under pressure.
  • A "right first time" approach with a strong focus on quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Experience carrying out quality checks to ensure products meet required standards.
  • Strong commitment to Health & Safety, particularly when handling glass materials.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.

DESIRABLE

  • Experience operating CNC machinery.
  • NVQ Level 2 qualification (or equivalent)
