Description

We are looking for several Experienced Motor Claims Handlers to join our company, which is recognized by Forbes as the World’s Best Employer and Best Employer for Women.

As an experienced Motor Claims Handler, you will be responsible for investigating the claim once the hire has ended and negotiating the settlement whilst minimizing the financial impact to our customers.

Prior claims handling experience is preferable; however, training is provided. An appetite to learn and transferrable skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire expert knowledge of credit hire laws, rules, and protocols
  • Manage own case load efficiently to achieve monthly targets individually and as part of the team
  • Request relevant documentation for the claim to enable efficient settlement strategy and investigate claimed periods and rates to ensure they are reasonable and not exaggerated.
  • Correspond with all relevant parties via telephone, email, or letter whilst ensuring to deliver professional standards of customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Negotiate and settle claims by agreement where possible
  • Nominate or instruct Solicitors as and when required
  • Maintain a high standard of quality on work produced to meet both internal and external audit requirements, including clearly detailed notation
  • Deliver professional standards of customer service to internal and external customers
  • Identify any possible fraud concerns and manage where applicable
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls

  • Previous experience in motor claims handling, credit hire claims, or a similar insurance claims environment is preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, investigation, and analytical skills, with the ability to assess liability and achieve positive claim outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the confidence to liaise professionally with customers, solicitors, insurers, and other stakeholders.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail, capable of managing a busy caseload while meeting quality standards and performance targets.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics are desirable. Professional insurance qualifications (e.g. Cert CII) or a willingness to work towards them would be advantageous.
