(SoC Design Engineer)
ARM’s hardware is at the heart of the computing and connectivity revolution, transforming daily life and business operations.
We’re seeking a highly motivated Senior RTL Design Engineer with an interest in diverse IP products, the ability to work collaboratively with global teams, and a passion for delivering power-conscious, high-performance systems across multiple industries, including IoT, Automotive, and Infrastructure Computing.
About the Role
You’ll join a dynamic team integrating IPs and designing sophisticated processing systems, supporting ARM’s mission to shape the future of computing and connectivity. Your expertise in subsystem and SoC design will be pivotal in driving innovation and optimizing system-level implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Subsystem & SoC Integration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate IPs and develop RTL for RTL subsystems
- Define and refine subsystem microarchitecture specifications based on system requirements
Verification & Debugging
- Review and evaluate verification test plans to ensure IP compatibility and subsystem coherence
- Diagnose, debug, and resolve issues across IPs and SoC components
Performance & Power Trade-offs
- Partner with the performance analysis team to optimize system PPA (Performance, Power, Area)
- Conduct rigorous static design checks (CDC, RDC, X-propagation, lint) and address inconsistencies
RTL Development & Debugging
- Develop subsystem RTL while improving verification coverage and maintainability
- Contribute IP-level refinements based on system-level integration challenges
Process Improvement
- Identify room for design methodology enhancements and propose refinements for wider adoption
- Mentor team members, drive seamless project execution, and engage with Project Management on planning and budgets

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
