Experiential Travel Consultant
Join 1953 as an Experiential Travel Consultant
Location: London | Hybrid (3 days in our Wandsworth office)
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience + trip commission
Start date: ASAP
1953 is a luxury adventure travel company creating extraordinary journeys for a discerning global clientele. We specialise in culinary, conservation and intrepid experiences that are highly bespoke and thoughtfully designed.
We're looking for an experienced travel professional who can confidently take ownership of our trips. The role is for someone who understands the complexities of designing and delivering exceptional journeys for ultra-high-net-worth travellers and requires minimal oversight or supervision.
Working closely with the founders, you'll help shape itineraries during the sales process before taking full ownership of every operational detail, ensuring each trip runs seamlessly from confirmation through to completion.
Required experience
- 3+ years' experience within the luxury travel industry
- Experience working for companies specialising in bespoke experiential travel
- Strong global supplier network
- Excellent destination knowledge across regions
- Experience hosting high-end client trips
- University degree (preferred)

What you'll do
- Work alongside the founders during the itinerary design and sales process
- Take full ownership of confirmed trips, managing every detail from booking through to post-trip follow-up
- Coordinate suppliers across multiple countries and time zones
- Build detailed client documentation, itineraries and operational briefings
- Manage all logistics, confirmations, amendments and last-minute requests with confidence
- Maintain timely and professional communication with clients and suppliers throughout the planning process
- Troubleshoot complex operational issues and resolve problems proactively
- Host client trips when required, delivering the high-touch service expected of the 1953 brand
- Research new destinations, experiences and suppliers to continually improve our product
- Contribute to marketing, social media and other business initiatives as part of a collaborative startup team
We're looking for someone who
- Has significant experience planning and operating complex luxury travel itineraries
- Has extensive experience working with ultra-high-net-worth clients
- Can confidently manage trips independently with minimal supervision
- Has exceptional operational and project management skills
- Is calm under pressure and thrives solving problems in real time
- Has outstanding attention to detail and organisational skills
- Builds trusted relationships with clients and suppliers alike
- Communicates professionally both in writing and over the phone
- Is creative and passionate about experiential and adventure travel
- Enjoys working in a fast-growing entrepreneurial business where no two days are the same
- Is excited to travel internationally to host client trips
- Thrives in a hybrid working environment and collaborates effectively with colleagues both in person and remotely
