The Role: Model Trains Expert
About the Role
Your mission is to bring your specialist model trains expertise to the curation of high-quality auctions that attract engaged collectors and trusted sellers. Your knowledge of brands, rarity, condition, valuation, and collector expectations ensures each lot is relevant, accurately assessed, and commercially strong.
Combining deep category expertise and sound commercial judgment, you will:
- Play a key role in growing the Model Trains category
- Maintain transparency and strengthen trust within the collector community

Key Responsibilities
Browse through lofts of submitted model train lots, ensuring attractive, relevant, and accurately listed items for auction:
- Evaluate and arrange high-quality lots submitted by users
- Create compelling weekly lot selections using your expertise and professional network
- Review titles, descriptions, and images to assess quality and provide accurate estimated values
- Safeguard transparent and fair transactions, maintaining consistency in expert evaluation
- Communicate rejections professionally and diplomatically, nurturing strong seller relationships
Proactively contribute to the category’s growth:
- Collaborate with Sales to attract new sellers and diversify the range and quality of lots
- Partner with Marketing to boost bidder engagement and visibility for your auctions
Requirements
Your profile should include:
- Expert knowledge in Model Trains (your professional background serves as proof)
- Strong commercial acumen – documented experience is essential
- An eye for trade and value within the collectibles market
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including diplomatic dealings in user disputes
- A network of potential sellers and experts within this niche
- Confidence in good computer skills and working with digital tools
- A good command of English (written and spoken fluency)

This role is 100% remote but must be based in the following countries:

Our Offices & Hybrid Flexibility
Our energised offices in Amsterdam and Lisbon are designed for collaboration, but most roles prioritise a hybrid approach: two days in the office per week (unless explicitly stated otherwise).
