Expert Partner, Security Capabilities – Gartner Consulting

About the Role

Gartner Consulting is seeking an Expert Partner focused on Security Capabilities to:

  • Develop client relationships
  • Lead client engagements
  • Build high-performing teams
  • Grow the Security Capabilities practice

What You’ll Do

As a Consulting Expert Partner, your responsibilities include:

  • Delivering client engagements and relationship management at the highest strategic level
  • Managing teams to advise clients on technology’s role in driving business outcomes
  • Developing asset-based methodologies and intellectual property (playbooks, tools, accelerators)

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Thought Leadership

  • Build a reputation for deep domain/industry expertise (e.g., IAM, SOC, Cloud Security, DevSecOps, Network Security, Cybersecurity, emerging tech trends), positioning you as a recognized Thought Leader
  • Contribute to globally consistent practice-area collateral
  • Create and refine practice assets (tools, accelerators, playbooks)
  • Conduct market, research, and competitive landscape analysis

Client Leadership

  • Lead solution development in sales pursuits across largest accounts
  • Define client challenges and desired outcomes
  • Formulate solution strategies, value propositions, and executive storytelling
  • Foster high client satisfaction through exceptional quality delivery and relationships

Business Building

  • Drive revenue and financial success for the practice and individual goals
  • Proactively package, position, and deliver Security Transformation solutions

People Leadership

  • Build high-performing teams aligned with security-delivery expertise
  • Mentor and train associates, ensuring knowledge of offerings and toolkits
  • Align Practice team performance with goals, metrics, and talent strategy
  • Collaborate with Industry and Region Leads to streamline capacity, hiring, and talent management

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree highly preferred
  • Domain Expertise: Demonstrated deep practical experience in 1+ security domains, including:
    • IAM, SOC, Cloud Security, DevSecOps, Network Security
  • Client-Facing Skills: Ability to influence C-suite stakeholders in a strategy consulting context
  • Analytical & Technical: Strong proficiency in diagramming, budgeting for security architectures, and options analysis
  • Revenue Success: Track record of achieving/exceeding revenue targets
  • Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of security regulations, market trends, and best-practice frameworks (TOGAF, SABSA)
  • Public Sector Experience: Wikimedia proficiency in government & enterprise security deployment
