Export Assistant Manager
Seafast Logistics - Export Assistant Manager
Seafast Logistics is seeking a Export Assistant Manager to join their team in Felixstowe. To be responsible of the day-to-day management of the Export & Cross Trade Operations Team as well as the management of the finances of the department.
Key Duties
- Lead the day-to-day management of the Export & Cross Trade Operations team, ensuring high levels of performance, productivity, and customer service.
- Oversee the end-to-end export and cross trade process, ensuring shipments are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with international regulations.
- Manage team workloads, resource planning, holiday cover, and operational priorities to meet business and customer requirements.
- Act as the main escalation point for operational and customer issues, driving timely and effective resolutions.
- Monitor departmental KPIs, customer performance, and operational metrics, implementing continuous improvement initiatives where required.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, overseas agents, shipping lines, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure all export documentation, customs requirements, and compliance obligations are completed accurately and in line with legislation, including Incoterms, IMDG, ADR, and AEO standards.
- Lead, coach, and develop team members through training, performance management, objective setting, and regular reviews.
- Support financial performance by monitoring invoicing, aged debt, costs, P&L performance, and operational efficiencies.
- Participate in customer review meetings, tenders, audits, and business improvement projects.
- Ensure accurate data management and timely updates across operational systems.
- Promote a positive, safe, and compliant working environment, ensuring adherence to Health & Safety, Quality, Environmental, and Security standards.
- Provide operational leadership and cover for the Export & Cross Trade Operations Manager during periods of absence.

- 5 Years Minimum
- Experience in Sea Freight Transport Knowledge
- Any previous management of people / leading a team
- Ability to complete Export Entries
- Proficient Excel Skills
- Cargowise Knowledge (not essential)
- Good Organisation Skills
- Hazardous Understanding
