Export Compliance Officer – Hybrid Role (3 Days On-Site, 2 Days Remote)
About the Role
We are seeking an Export Compliance Officer to join the Export Compliance Center of Excellence team at our Yeovil facility. This hybrid role (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) reports to the Export Compliance Manager and plays a critical role in ensuring Honeywell Aerospace complies with international export laws, regulations, and sanctions.
As an ambassador for export compliance, you will collaborate closely with manufacturing, logistics, and engineering teams to raise awareness, provide training, resolve complex export issues, and support license applications. Your work will directly contribute to safer aviation, fuel-efficient operations, and groundbreaking innovations—forms of our mission:

Key Responsibilities
- Advocate for export compliance
- Act as an internal ambassador, training stakeholders and providing expert guidance on UK/US/EU export laws and sanctions.
- Develop and foster awareness across teams about compliance impacts on products, processes, and workflows.

Ensure regulatory adherence
- Establish and maintain framework controls to guarantee adherence to EU Dual-Use, US EAR/ITAR, UK Export Controls, and national/local infections.
- Conduct routine compliance checks and vulnerability assessments with staff and operations alike.

Licensing and transaction management
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure streamlined processes for export license applications from governing bodies.
- Manage export transactions in SAP/GTS, ensuring seamless documentation and monitoring.

Proactive engagement & collaboration
- Work with regional stakeholders to exchange best practices and support continuous improvement of IT-infrastructure-based compliance touchpoints.
- Stay updated on regulatory updates and proactively adapt tools, training materials, and operational policies.

External networking
- Engage with global export security/authorities to benchmark expertise and adapt Honeywell policies to evolving international standards.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree (or 2 years corporate experience equivalent) in a compliance-related field.
- Fluent written/spoken English (C1 standard or above)—critical for multidisciplinary communication.
- Relevant exposure or strong verbal interest in export compliance or sanctions monitoring.
- Proactive problem-solving ability, resilience, and a global mindset.
- Basic proficiency in the MS Office Suite.

Highly Valued Skills & Experience (Not Mandatory but Advantageous)
- Technical comfort with SAP/GTS systems.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills (additional languages beyond English).
- Familiarity with:
- Regional controls: UK’s Sanctions, EU/WTO literary terms, NATO/US military/restricted inspections (may be required elsewhere).
- Sanctions compliance, espionage/data loss, ALL-PARTIES/AUSFIN0816, or equivalent.
- Data analytics or ability to navigate programming/scripting tools to monitor risks.
