DePuy Synthes is recruiting for an Export Control Analyst based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom. This role may also be available across multiple countries under different requisition numbers to ensure compliance with local requirements.

Role Overview
The Export Control Analyst supports DePuy Synthes’ global trade compliance activities, ensuring products, technologies, and data are exported in line with applicable export control laws and regulations. This role is critical for protecting the business, enabling compliant international trade, and supporting global supply chain and commercial operations.
Ideal for early-career professionals seeking to build expertise in export controls within a regulated, global medical technology environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day export control operations, including:
- Screening, classification, and transaction reviews to ensure compliance with relevant export control regulations (e.g., UK, EU, U.S. frameworks)
- Assist in classifying products, components, software, and technical data under export control regimes
- Review export documentation and commercial transactions to identify and escalate potential export control risks
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits, internal reviews, and regulatory inquiries
- Support the implementation and maintenance of export control policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, and Commercial teams to provide guidance and meet business needs
- Monitor regulatory updates and assist with assessing impacts of changes in export control regulations
- Contribute to training, awareness, and improvement initiatives in the Trade Compliance function

Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required in Business, International Trade, Supply Chain, Law, Engineering, or a related field
- Preferred: Relevant coursework or concentration in international trade compliance, logistics, or regulatory affairs
Experience & Skills
- 2-4 years of relevant work experience in:
- Export controls, trade compliance, supply chain, or regulatory/analytical roles
- Foundational knowledge of:
- Export control concepts
- Regulatory frameworks (UK, EU, U.S.)
- Technical Proficiencies:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Comfort working with data and documentation systems
Preferred Skills:
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to follow processes and apply policies consistently
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with export control or trade compliance in global/regulated environments
- Familiarity with classification tools and compliance systems
- Exposure to cross-functional collaboration with supply chain, logistics, or engineering teams
- Interest in developing a long-term career in global trade compliance
Languages
- English is required
- Additional European languages are a plus
Travel
- Limited travel may be required (typically less than 10%)
Certifications
- Preferred (but not required): Export compliance or trade compliance certifications
