Kepak Export Controller Role

Kepak is a global food company serving international retailers and food service household names with prime cuts of meat, on-trend food concepts and ready-for-market convenience foods.

Kepak St. Merryn in Merthyr Tydfil has combined beef and lamb processing and packing facilities. We offer beef and lamb products ranging from retail ready cuts for butchers’ counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef and lamb products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance.

We are pleased to be recruiting for an Export Controller to work in our busy Logistics office in Kepak Merthyr Tydfil.

This is a full time, permanent position with a competitive salary, working Monday to Friday 7.00am to 4.00pm - flexibility required and some evenings.

Role Purpose

Manage the end-to-end supply chain process, coordinating exports to ensure timely deliveries. You will work closely with customers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to ensure efficient and smooth operations. Ensure all company’s export control policy processes are adhere to. Provide advice on Export Control, collaborating with both internal teams and external agencies to maintain compliance. Being the official point of contact with export control regulatory agencies. Continuous monitoring and improvement of processes and internal work instructions to ensure compliance. Undertaking continuous internal compliance checks to ensure all activity falls within the scope of the applicable legislation. Supporting compliance visits as well as both internal and external audits.

The role requires you to take responsibility for your work, ensuring accuracy of recording and sharing information. Collation and control of all Export documentation required. Liaising with relevant internal customers that affect Export. Liaising with 3rd Party Transportation for Global and European Export Order Creation.

Support on site Stock Control and Logistics Administrators as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring adherence to all export procedures and controls
  • Completing accurate documentation as per customer and country-specific requirements
  • Processing shipments to global customers
  • Export Document control
  • Liaising with external cold stores to complete export to Europe and rest of the world
  • Liaising with external Vets companies ensuring vets are in place for all exports
  • Liaising with external transport companies
  • Liaising with internal transport department
  • Liaising with Sales Managers and Sales Support Administrators
  • Controlling Export costs
  • Working closely with Despatch and Intakes departments
  • Completing administration tasks when required
  • Inputting and sharing KPI's
  • Setting up orders to customers on internal system
  • Ad hoc duties as required
