Project Manager – Water Sector (Expression of Interest)
The Opportunity
This is an Expression of Interest to join Stantec as a Project Manager within our Water sector.

We’re now looking for experienced Project Managers with a strong background in water to help deliver projects that keep our water systems resilient, sustainable, and ready for the future.

The Role
As a Project Manager, you’ll lead complex, multidisciplinary projects from early planning through delivery, managing programmes, costs, quality, and communication to build client confidence and motivate teams. Key responsibilities include:
- Project leadership: Overseeing documentation, contracts, and commercial performance while evaluating risk, opportunities, and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder engagement: Bridging internal teams and external clients to ensure alignment and shared focus on great outcomes.
- Safety and sustainability: Fostering a positive Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) culture and supporting teams with safety training.
- Business development: Contributing to proposals and identifying new opportunities where Stantec’s expertise can drive impact.
- Professional growth: Leveraging opportunities towards APM-recognised qualifications, such as the Project Management Qualification (PMQ).

About You
To apply, you must meet the following criteria:
- Industry experience: Demonstrated expertise in the Water sector.
- Project management: Essential prior experience in project leadership (APM PMQ or equivalent a strong asset).
- Stakeholder relations: Ability to manage multiple deadlines and build successful relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Risk and delivery: Proven ability to anticipate risks and drive proactive mitigation, with a track record of successful project management.
- Innovation and passion: Commitment to client service excellence and a drive to tackle sector challenges.
