Job Opportunity: Project Manager – Water (Expression of Interest)

The Opportunity

This is an Expression of Interest to join Stantec as a Project Manager within our Water sector.

We’re now looking for experienced Project Managers with a strong background in the water sector to help us deliver projects that keep water systems resilient, sustainable, and future-ready.

With hybrid working and offices across the UK, you’ll have the flexibility to work in a way that supports collaboration, innovation, and work-life balance.

Our teams operate across the full water cycle—from:

  • Water resources and treatment
  • Wastewater networks
  • Supply resilience
  • Flood mitigation

The Role

As a Project Manager, you’ll play a central role in bringing complex, multidisciplinary projects to life. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Programme, cost, and quality management – ensuring projects stay on track to meet expectations
  • Client and stakeholder engagement – building strong relationships with internal teams and external clients
  • Contract and commercial administration – handling documentation, risk assessment, and opportunities for improvement
  • Championing a positive HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, Environment) culture – ensuring teams have the training and support to work safely
  • Business development support – contributing to proposals, identifying growth opportunities, and aligning your expertise with our clients’ needs

As a Corporate Partner of the Association for Project Management (APM), we provide:

About You

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Proven experience in the Water industry
  • Essential proven experience in project management
  • An industry-recognised project management qualification (e.g., APM PMQ or equivalent)
  • A track record of:
    • Managing multiple deadlines efficiently
    • Building successful relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
    • Proactive risk management and mitigation
    • Delivering successful project outcomes
  • A passion for innovation and client service, with ambition to contribute to our growth in the sector
