Job Description

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced External Affairs and Policy Manager to join our External Affairs team.

Reporting to the Head of External Affairs, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering our external affairs and influencing activity.

Working closely with colleagues across the business, you will help enhance our external profile and reputation with a detailed understanding of housing policy to support consultation responses, research, stakeholder engagement, and intelligence gathering.

You will support the development of evidence-based positions on a wide range of social housing policy issues, ensuring our voice is heard by key decision makers and sector stakeholders.

Through horizon scanning, research and relationship building, you will help identify emerging opportunities and challenges and support our influencing activity at both a local and national level.

What We Are Looking For

We know that how we do things is just as important as what we do, so you will be highly motivated with excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to delivering results.

You will be an effective relationship builder who thrives on collaboration, building strong relationships with colleagues and senior leaders across the organisation as well as external stakeholders.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
