Introduction to EY Foundation
The EY Foundation is a charity established in 2014 to equip young people from low-income backgrounds with essential workplace skills. Founded by EY, the professional services firm (its primary funder), the Foundation champions social mobility by championing equal employment and earnings potential for all young people eligible for Free School Meals.
Our Mission
Our ambition is for all young people eligible for Free School Meals to have an employment and earnings potential equitable to other young people in the UK. We deliver this through:
- Deep understanding of labour market dynamics
- Building employer-youth partnerships
- Collaborating with diverse organisations across employability skills programmes and digital interventions
- Systemic change advocacy through convening power
Work Model
Based in London, Manchester, Glasgow, and Birmingham, we operate a hybrid model:
- At least one office day per week
- Flexibility depending on role/ requirements (may increase hybrid or in-office presence)
As a charity, we generate income via:
- Corporate partnerships
- Traditional fundraising
- Grants
Safeguarding Commitment

This newly created role sits within the Income and Partnerships function and spans three core income growth areas:
- Trusts and Foundations (grant) income
- Major donor (high net worth (/legacy) income/giving)
- Corporate relationships and foundations
Key Responsibilities (not exhaustive)
Three Core Areas

Trusts and Foundation Income
- Identify grant-making funders, pitch funding discussions
- Propose and negotiate 5–7 figure grants
- Maintain relationships and align grant-funding initiatives with EYF’s theory of change, business model, and strategies

Major Donor / High Net Worth Giving
- Segment audiences; design & deliver annual communications plans (events, gifts)
- Grow legacy giving programmes and engagement with EY’s global network
- Upscale value at every touchpoint: events, communications and materials

Corporate Relationships & Foundations
- Target high-value commitments for corporate foundations and partners

High-Value Relationship Management
- Develop stakeholder/intellectual capital for proposals, reports, and pitches
- Target-driven campaigning with pipelines, dashboards & CRMs tracker
Supportive Responsibilities
- Collaborate with programmes, finance, and impact teams on partnerships
- Adaptive leadership: driven by impact-capacity-integration, aligns with EYF’s reaches/positions goals
- Confidence-building in your own growth: leverage role flexibility as a tool for development
Key Requirements
Essential Experience
✔ Digital proficiency: Use of SharePoint, CRM, or similar tools (MS Dynamics desirably) ✔ Developmental expertise in:
- Trust/Foundation funding or major donor development or corporate partnerships
- Successful income generation or negotiations in a target-driven environment -Maturity: ability to build relationships at senior levels within funders
Technical Skills
- Communications: Craft tailored messaging across channels (pitches, proposals).
- Data & Insight: Analyze trends to inform strategy.
- CRM Proficiency: Track opportunities, donor journeys via systems.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage funders, HNWIs and families in meaningful ways.

- Network building/leverage in giving circles or Rotary initiatives
- History of six-figure partnership growth

- Scenario-Based Discussions: Problem-solving and decision-making.

- Presentation Development:see you research skills as pitches and proposals
- Commitment to EY Foundation: Proving alignment with our strategy and values.
