EYFS Graduate Teaching Assistant
September 2024 to July 2025 £85 – £101 per day ‘Outstanding’ primary school, Ward of Yardley Main classroom support across EYFS
The Role
Support children across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) through a blend of classroom assistance, play-based learning, and focused early development support. Responsibilities include:
- Helping pupils settle into routines
- Building early communication and numeracy skills
- Supporting literacy-based activities
- Collaborating closely with the class teacher to keep children engaged throughout the day
- Contributing to the EYFS framework, ensuring children develop essential knowledge, skills, and confidence for their school journey
The Candidate
You must:
- Be patient, energetic, and clear communicator with young children
- Have a strong desire to work in education, with an interest in supporting developmental growth
- Aim to develop practical classroom experience before pursuing a teaching career
- Prefer hands-on teaching support, enhancing skills in reading, writing, and learning activities
- Recognise this role as a natural progression for those entering primary education

Requirements
- Degree: Minimum 2:2 or better in any subject
- Enhanced DBS: Must hold (or be prepared to obtain)
- Must demonstrate commitment to education – passion for supporting child progress and wellbeing
- Interest in long-term career development in education, ideally leading to teacher training
