Level 3 EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Harpurhey, Manchester
Contract: Temporary (Long-term)
Full Time: Monday to Friday
Pay: £105 - £115 per day
Start Date: September 2026
Expected End Date: End of the academic year
A specialist SEN school in Harpurhey is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Level 3 EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity until the end of the academic year, supporting children within the Early Years Foundation Stage with a range of complex additional needs.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting young children with Special Educational Needs, working closely with class teachers and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver personalised academic, social, and emotional support. The school provides a structured, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and essential early learning skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing 1:1 and small group support, adapting learning to meet individual needs
- Supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), speech and language needs, sensory needs, and developmental delays
- Delivering engaging EYFS learning activities that promote communication, play, and early development
- Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social interaction
- Assisting with the implementation of EHCPs, behaviour support plans, and therapeutic strategies
- Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, therapists, and support staff
- Promoting independence and encouraging positive relationships throughout the school day

The Successful Applicant Will
- Hold a Level 3 Early Years or Supporting Teaching & Learning qualification
- Have experience supporting children with SEN, ideally within an EYFS or specialist setting
- Be calm, patient, resilient, and proactive, with a nurturing approach
- Be confident supporting behaviour, emotional regulation, and communication development
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Have the right to work in the UK and full-time availability from September
- PECS, Makaton, or AAC knowledge (desirable)
- Team Teach, MAPA, or similar de-escalation training (desirable)
- Hold a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate (Child Workforce) registered on the DBS Update Service (essential)
