EYFS SEN Teacher: Near Cambridge
Location: Near Cambridge (South Cambridgeshire)
Contract Type: Part-Time, Long-Term Assignment
Working Days: 1 day per week (day to be agreed)

Are you an experienced Early Years specialist looking to balance your passion for early childhood development with your personal lifestyle commitments? We are seeking a dedicated EYFS SEN Teacher for a rewarding part-time, long-term opportunity at a specialist school located near Cambridge.
This role offers a wonderful opportunity: the professional fulfilment of guiding young children with complex learning needs through their vital first steps in education, combined with the ultimate balance of a one-day-a-week schedule. Running on a long-term basis, this placement offers excellent consistency for early years learners and the chance to become an integral part of a collaborative, expert specialist team.
Key Responsibilities
- Play-Based Specialist Delivery: Deliver creative, highly sensory, and interactive play-based learning experiences aligned with the EYFS framework, tailored to individual cognitive and developmental levels.
- Support Individual Milestones: Work closely with individual Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) to ensure early communication, physical development, and personal/social milestones are actively supported.
- Lead Classroom Support Staff: Guide and collaborate with a dedicated team of SEN Teaching Assistants within your nursery or reception class to maintain a safe, nurturing, and sensory-friendly environment.
- Track Early Development: Monitor and record individual progress, utilise visual aids or alternative communication tools, and collaborate closely with parents and therapists to ensure a holistic approach.

Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential (Early Years Teacher Status also welcomed).
- Proven experience teaching pupils with special educational needs (such as Autism, Global Developmental Delay, ADHD, or Speech and Language Needs).
- Deep understanding of child development, sensory integration, and positive behaviour management within an early years setting.
- A warm, highly patient, and nurturing approach to learning.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willingness to complete one immediately).
