F1 Audio Visual Technician

AV Technician

Job Type: Full-time Salary: £28,000 (Open to negotiation depending on experience) Work Location: In-person Location: Banbury & Travelling


About the Role

We’re looking to appoint an AV Technician with a strong focus on video systems. This role involves hands-on work with the latest video technology, ensuring seamless operation and integration across various high-profile projects—from Formula 1 event production to leading concert halls, conferences, and virtual production environments.

In this hands-on technical position, you’ll:

  • Deliver cutting-edge video solutions, including LED walls, projection systems, and virtual production setups.
  • Collaborate with clients and production teams to refine systems and achieve flawless execution.
  • Innovate alongside a forward-thinking team, implementing new technologies to stay ahead.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented troubleshooter with experience in high-demand showrunners, seeking to work at the forefront of professional AV systems and immersive production environments.


Responsibilities

As an AV Technician (Video-Focused), you’ll:

  • Craft & refine video systems to match project goals, working closely with clients and production teams.
  • Build and manage custom video playback/distribution systems, ensuring impeccable quality (e.g. switchers, media servers).
  • Lead on-site installations of virtual production systems, ensuring seamless setups for live events, broadcasts, and commercial productions.
  • Integrate signals, verifying all video inputs and outputs work flawlessly across complex setups.
  • Optimise workflows post-project by compiling feedback and improving future system designs.
  • Innovate by introducing new technologies and processes, ensuring high standards are maintained.

Essential Skills & Experience

Proven expertise in: ✔ Video systems & show environments:

  • Video processing, screen management and signal distribution (NDI, Dante, SDI).
  • Experience wiring av shows for 3-phase power, signal routing and distribution systems.

✔ Networking and fibre distribution:

  • Managed network environments (including Netgear AV Line switches).
  • Virtual production deployment.

✔ Media & live video tooling:

  • Pixera, LiveMedia, Blackmagic, Resolute/V-MIX, Green Hippo (playback & video routing).
  • LED wall rigging and programming (Novastar processors).

✔ Troubleshooting & live production pressure. Your ability to adapt under tight deadlines will help deliver pivotal moments for major clients.

✔ Industry-specific knowledge:

  • Broadcast workflows and VFX integration.
  • Familiarity with hybrid live-event environments and safety compliance codes.

Essential additional qualification – 3rd-class electrical certificate or equivalent.


Desirable Skills

Experience and comfort in:

  • Supporting a wide range of audio and lighting roles in live productions.
  • Man-managed AV rigs with transformation and build responsibility.
  • New-media workflow tools and VFX-to-projection delivery systems.
